A while back, it seemed like the world’s music magazines were going “Top 10” crazy – well, some of them made a Top 100 etc.

5. The Beatles – Rubber Soul

6. Marvin Gaye – What’s Goin’ On

7. The Rolling Stones – Exile On Main Street

8. The Clash – London Calling

9. Bob Dylan – Blonde on Blonde

10. The Beatles – The Beatles (the white album)

Record Collector Magazine, Japan (2007)

1. Beach Boys – Pet Sounds

3. The Band – Music From Big Pink

4. King Crimson – In The Court of the Crimson King

5. The Beatles – Revolver

6. The Sex Pistols – Never Mind The Bullocks

Does this mean that the titles that intersect are the most universally respected albums?

Yet when the readers of the Japanese magazine were polled, they picked a few different records for their Top 10:
