Jethro Tull

Nothing like observing Cinco de Mayo with a short dissertation on Ian Anderson & Company: Jethro Tull.

Without a doubt, the first place I ever heard / heard of Jethro Tull was on one of te first publicly sold Warner / Reprise ‘loss leader’ 2LP sets – the track “My Sunday Feeling”.  I somehow skipped album #2 (“Stand Up”) and went straight for the first new Jethro Tull album that was being released – after I knew of them: “Benefit”.

“Benefit” remains, for me, their finest ¾ of an hour.  There are arguments for the track listing on both the US & UK copies – which differ slightly.  I have a re-mastered (with bonus tracks) version of the CD, but have never managed to track down a Japanese paper sleeve CD edition – drat!

The ones that I can shamelessly recommend are:
