I couldn’t believe my good fortune – I saw the guy who had this stuff at the September Claremont swap meet, and reminded him that he said he had more of it.  Well, folks – he remembered to bring the stuff to Buena Park!

Mark Andrews had really silly hair.  Attila’s Brides “Wooly Bully” is an ’82 novelty re-make.  The Captain Sensible 45 is b/w “Damned on 45” – amazing!  Danceclass is rock music, not disco music!  The Jools Holland 45 is written by Mr. Difford from Squeeze –

but it’s sung by Jools.  Joe Jackson “Beat Crazy” 45 is b/w a live re-make of “Is She Really Going Out With Him?”  One of the Paul Kennerley 45’s is produced by Dave Edmunds.  The first few 45’s by The Keys are produced by Joe Jackson.  Squeeze “Tempted” 45 – UK version has a different B-Side than the US version!  And yet another Rick Wakeman 45!

So, in 2010 – I bought around 100 A&M UK promo 7” singles!

Annabell Lamb was always an artist I liked. She had an “arid” vocal style that reminded me of another A+M artist: Rupert Hine. Actually, Rupert would have been a good producer for Annabel, but she was married to Wally Brill at the time. I’ve got the 12″ of “The Flame” and it has an additional B-side. The A-side is not extended. “Cinderella,” “Tell Him” and “I Know How Love Goes” are unknown quantities to me! They’re not on either of the A+M LPs [“Heartland” and “The Flame”] that I have. What’s the year of issue on those? The tracks aren’t on the post-A+M albums I have either. Were these early, pre-“Once Bitten” tracks pre-1983?

Sorry about the confusion. What I described as the “Heartland” LP was the “Once Bitten” LP. “Heartland was a 1988 German CD I have which was compiled from “Once Bitten” and “The Flame” material. Until 2008, it was the only Annabel Lamb CD of A+M material, but apparently two years ago Cherry Red did the honors of “The Flame!” If I had to do one album of hers on CD that would be the one to pick. I’ll need to pick that one up one day.
