  1. postpunkmonk says:

I have 18 of those titles. That’s about what I’d expect. I think of my tastes and Ron’s overlapping about 10-12% in the venn diagram of music taste. It’s telling that for groups that we both love, his picks differ from mine in many cases. Except for The Who, The Stranglers, Scritti Politti, Les Rita Mitsouko, Grace Jones, Rupert Hine and Firesign Theatre. We are definitely eye-to-eye on those titles!

    Jim-san,

You should let me know what you are not at all familiar with. Maybe you’ve never heard your favorite record yet?

Consider my Top 150 like one of those incomprehensible Japanese lists. What’s new to you here? Forget what you think you know about any title here – what have you not really heard?

    Ron

  3. Brian Ware says:

Having enjoyed your numerous sampler discs over the years and your wonderful party set from RONKON, I can honestly say I’ve probably heard at least one track from most of these artists. Certainly not the best way to judge them, but I appreciate the guidelines.

  4. ronkanefiles says:

These are the titles to snap up if confronted with them in a “used bin”. I conditionally recommend all of the artists on this list – not every album by each is great, but should be “OK”. I did enjoy making the Ron-Kon set, and was most pleased to have many of my good friends present. How’d I make it this far? (I know, I know…not drinking too much etc.)
